Standard Upgrade 50s Wiring

This 50s wiring kit is designed to upgrade modern dual-humbucker guitars, delivering the tonal behavior and dynamic response of the classic 1950s wiring scheme. It is also available with long-shaft pots specifically suited for carved-top Gibson USA Les Paul-style guitars, as well as in other configurations upon request.

 

The kit comes fully assembled and ready for installation, and includes the following components:

 

-4 x CTS Soft Taper 500k or “Burst Taper” 550k calibrated potentiometers
-2 x Orange Drop 0.022 µF capacitors (Premium vintage-style options available on request)
-Vintage-correct tinned copper bus wire

 

The 50s wiring configuration offers a unique advantage by preserving clarity when rolling down the volume control, much like a treble bleed circuit, but without its inherent drawbacks. It also introduces a subtle interaction between the tone and volume controls: as you lower the tone, the overall response of the circuit changes, adding nuance and expressiveness.
